Boiler room sessions
Boiler Room Sessions is a music show hosted by Rhinecliff resident and musician Matt Schreiber. Tuning in to sympathetic vibrations from various parts of the world, the show will include live guests performances, context nuggets, and musical genres you never knew you didn’t know.
Matt Schreiber is an accordionist and music educator. Originally from the capital district, Matt and his family moved to Rhinecliff in 2017 from New Orleans. Dedicated to the study and performance of Southeastern European folk traditions for over a decade, Matt is completing a PhD in ethnomusicology from the City University of New York. He performs regularly with ensembles in the greater Hudson Valley, including Wolftones, Anatole Trio, and the Lucky Five.

Episode 7 - Halloween Special
Episode 6 - This week's show highlights the oud - a round-backed stringed instrument that is the great-grand pappy of the guitar. The instrument is found throughout the middle east and beyond, but today's show focuses on its personalities in the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa.
Episode 5 - Contemporary (2000 and later) music from the Balkans. Many of these musicians have blended traditional styles with electronic dance music, jazz, and have pushed folk traditions with their own compositional voices. These artists have had limited distribution in the US but have been making some amazing music in recent years.
