Class from the Past

Picture
“Class from the Past" is a podcast that reunites Scott Stiverson with former students he has taught over the many years of his career. It highlights their life experiences after leaving his class, the diverse paths they have taken, positive events, and the challenges they may have faced. Along the way, both student and teacher reflect on the impact each of their lives have had on each other: on who they are and who they became.

Scott Stiverson has been an elementary school teacher for 28 years. He has taught every grade (except 3rd) from Kindergarten to 5th. His career started in Prince George’s County Maryland, located outside of Washington D.C. After 5 years, he moved to upstate New York, where he continued to teach in the Rhinebeck Central School District. Through Scott’s journey, he has encountered hundreds of students, many of whom have influenced his life and teaching style.
Scott has been married to Rochelle (also a teacher) for 26 years. They have two daughters: Sara and Emily. Sara is married to Jeremy (a Navy submariner) and lives in Hawaii. Emily is finishing up her college degree at the University of Minnesota in Duluth.
